Let’s start by talking about the so called Multiverse, a vast assemblage of multiple universes; it’s not possible to name the exact number of universes except that it is close to infinity but each functions with the diligence of a mechanical clock.
And, within each Earth, there lays a Digiworld.
The timelines vary and act according to their own destinies, despite their diversity they actually but follow similar patterns. To begin with, the Digiworld is administrated by Yggdrasil and Homeostasis, two deity-level servers which are usually at odds (and would also seldom show themselves in the open). When a conflict of certain gravity shall erupt in the local Digiworld, sooner or later the frontiers that separates it from the Human World would stumble and a group of children would be summoned by a strange force and -whether they like it or not- be entrusted with a strange device and a digimon partner in order to save it. The plot would often drag the human world as well, raising the stakes until the big bad is defeated for good. It happens quite frequently!
When it’s about other universes, though, neither digimons nor digidestineds are aware of them. At least, the majority. Only few characters across the multiversity own the privilege of such knowledge…
Despite talking about infinite universes, only twelve – due to their proximity with each other despite the invisible barriers – will join the fun.
Several variations of Earth and its neighboring Digiworld are on the menu, at least 12 registered universes (but according to Shukumeimon there are WAY more!) and they’ll be sooner or later dragged (without any sort of escape) into a wacky race for survival.
Digidestineds, digimons from those 12 universes will either join forces or fight against each other in order to win.
